About

Built on the unit, not in a boardroom

Support Scan was created from direct experience managing behavioral-health treatment operations — and from the gap between what leadership is accountable for and what leadership can actually see.

Safety rounds are the clearest example. Every residential program runs them. Every director signs off on them. And almost nowhere can anyone prove, at 3 AM, that a check happened where and when the record says it did. Paper logs can be filled in from a chair. Dedicated rounding devices help, but they add hardware to buy, charge, share, and lose — and they still go quiet when the wifi does.

Support Scan started as an internal tool for a working treatment facility, built check by check alongside the staff who used it on real overnight shifts. The features exist because a shift needed them: proximity verification because presence is the whole point; server-side alerting because phones sleep; offline recording because buildings have dead zones; enforced breathing attestations because that's what a detox license actually requires; a two-tap sheet because rounds are done one-handed, gloved, in the dark.

The product grew into a platform the way honest software does — by surviving contact with a real operation first, then being rebuilt to serve many.

What we believe

  • Verification beats attestation. A record that proves presence protects clients — and protects the staff who do the job right.
  • The record is sacred. Append-only documentation isn't a feature; it's a posture. What happened is what's written.
  • Software should fit the shift. If it takes more than two taps at a bedside, it won't survive a busy night.
  • Say what's true. No compliance badges we can't stand behind, no outcomes we can't evidence, no claims a surveyor would wince at.
